ixPressia Print Engine shipped by manufacturers

Cametrics, the Cambridge-based software consultancy, is delighted to announce that ixPressia, their software products division, has reached a major milestone. The first licensees of ixPressia's Print Engine^TM Software have manufactured their industrial inkjet printers using ixPressia Print Engine and are shipping them in volume.

The ixPressia Print Engine software enables inkjet printer manufacturers to drive printers with any printhead type, number and configuration, without having to develop new software each time they design a new printer.

Matt Pyne, Technical Director, says "This is a unique product which will make printer development much easier and quicker, and at a much lower cost than writing bespoke software from scratch."

MD Jim Taylor adds "Cametrics' goal as a consultancy has always been to help our customers develop their products more quickly and efficiently. ixPressia was set up last year explicitly to develop software products for the industrial inkjet market. Cametrics Launches ixPressia

Cametrics, a leading software development consultancy based in Cambridge has successfully launched its first spin-out, ixPressia, into the industrial inkjet market.

'Cametrics has developed particular expertise in the industrial inkjet printing arena, and we are delighted to be launching ixPressia, our first product-based venture,' says Cametrics and ixPressia Managing Director, Jim Taylor, adding: 'We are developing a series of products aimed at the industrial inkjet printing sector with ixPressia's SureJet software being the first.

'Early indications from existing and potential customers are very encouraging. There is a recognised need for a single, industry-wide solution that overcomes the requirement to repeatedly write new and costly software programmes for printheads. We believe that SureJet provides that solution.'

ixPressia is led by industrial inkjet specialist Nick Geddes who says: 'One of SureJet's key attractions is its ability to allow hugely expensive printers to become fully commercially operational within time frames that were previously thought unachievable.'

'Nick's background, which spans both investment banking and technology development, makes him one of a very rare breed - someone who understands both business and technology - so we are very fortunate to have him leading the ixPressia team,' says Jim.

SureJet's powerful software package will, for the first time, allow the seamless integration of multiple printheads; reducing development time and costs associated with the introduction and integration of new industrial inkjet printers.

The launch of ixPressia follows two years of intense research and development at Cametrics, a company well known for its ability to deliver high quality software solutions within the consumer electronics and industrial product markets.
